Cop cover for woman facing ‘honour’ killing threat
CHENNAI: The Madras high court on Friday ordered police protection, if necessary, to a Rajasthani woman who apprehended “honour killing” at the hands of her own family members for marrying a Tamil man.
Manju (19) married a youth from Coimbatore in April this year and her parents, who were opposed to the marriage, took her to Rajasthan by force. After her husband, C Sudhagar, approached the court with a habeas corpus petition, court summoned her on July 10. But that day Manju said she wanted to go with her parents.
